The Role

In your role as Compliance Officer you will be assisting the company wide & end to end Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality practices and will be passionate about driving this in to company culture!

Reporting to and working closely with the Compliance Manager, you will be assisting with the implementation and day to day management of compliance and HSEQ, aiming to build your knowledge up to be ready to independently create and develop policies & procedures.

What Will You Be Doing?

  • You will be responsible for the research, development and reviews of comprehensive plans regarding Health, Safety, Environmental & Quality
  • Provide technical advice on HSEQ to management and ensure correct practices and safety procedures are put in place and integrated into daily operations
  • Assist with identifying areas for improvement & implementation of new HSEQ systems, programs, manuals, policies & procedures
  • Provide training in conjunction with the HR Manager and help management to implement and run these
  • Assisting with creation and conducting interesting workshops for safety program topics such as incident analysis/prevention, safety policies/procedures, regulatory compliance, safety training as required by law, etc.
  • Create and conduct group training modules e.g. WHS and Risk Management in conjunction with the HR Manager
  • Conducting incident investigations & reporting on incidents & workers' compensation claims
  • Develop tailored auditing systems and conduct audits across the business
  • Keep up to date with legislation, regulatory compliance & documents


About You

You have experience in HSEQ/ Compliance, ideally with some experience in assisting with implementation of new processes and policies and influencing others, and are looking to grow your career and work your way up to being an independent Compliance / HSEQ Manager.

  • Minimum Certificate IV in WHS or equivalent (additional qualification in Environmental or Quality Management highly desirable)
  • Diploma OR high level experience in conducting audits / accident investigations / hazard reports
  • Experience in maintaining Quality, Safety and Environmental Management systems in compliance with ISO 9001, ASNZ 450001 and ISO 14001
  • Training experience / Cert IV in Training & Assessment
  • Knowledge of respective ISO Quality & Environment standards and AS/NZS Workplace Health & Safety standards including demonstrated knowledge ISO45001, ISO9001, ISO10001, ISO14001
  • Excellent communication skills 
  • Strong analytical skills and experience in HSEQ reporting
  • Strong communication & relationship building skills across cross functional teams
