Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity available for a Civil Site Manager to join our team.
In this role you will be responsible for ensuring site works are performed and delivered in accordance with the construction program.

This includes actively providing leadership and guidance to the site team, as well as coordinating day to day operations, managing budget, planning and scheduling of work.
In this position, you’ll be:
  • Leading onsite construction work in accordance with priorities and plans of the project and overseeing the quality of the project.
  • Leading the site team, providing feedback and guidance and coordinating duties as required 
  • Build and maintain effective working relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
  • Work with Finance Team to set budgets and ensure the Site Teams measure and report on production against these budgets
  • Ensure the project is adequately staffed and all site resources (labour, machinery, materials, subcontractors etc.) are effectively utilised and monitored to achieve timely completion of projects.
  • Provide advice, support and assistance to employees and clients in relation to any technical / complex problems that may arise on site.
  • Ensure that all statutory requirements (e.g., Local Council, EPA, Safe Work NSW etc.) are always adhered to on site.
  • Ensure that the relevant information is communicated to construction workers enabling them to effectively carry out their duties effectively, providing performance feedback and support as required.
  • Foster a positive work environment, motivating the teams to work toward desired goals and acting with integrity to gain and maintain the trust, respect and the support of others. 
We are looking for someone who has:
  • Appropriate qualifications in civil construction.
  • Previous leadership experience in civil construction industry. 
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the construction industry and processes.
  • Excellent attention to detail, planning and organisation skills, with the ability to run a construction site effectively.
  • Ability to read construction drawings.
  • Strong interpersonal and supervisory skills.  
  • Excellent problem solving and conflict resolution skills. 
  • Advanced communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with others at all levels. 
  • Strong understanding and working knowledge of WHS, Environmental Management and Quality System.
  • Initiative to continuously improve productivity and cost control.
  • Strong understanding and working knowledge of WHS, Environmental Management and Quality System.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks throughout the day and juggle responsibilities across multiple projects
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work lead multiple project teams with competing demands/priorities, to ensure satisfactory completion of projects. 
  • The ability to manage priorities in a changing environment, with an emphasis on meeting client requirements within defined timeframes and budgets.
  • Willingness to travel and work in different locations when required.
  • An ambition to learn and improve.
  • Willingness to support, coach and develop others
