You will receive a thorough handover from the previous CFO.

As CFO, you will be working with a down to earth and successful CEO with  strong community sector experience as well as experience as a CFO themselves.

You will be directly managing 3 direct reports - Finance Administrator, Accounts Assistant and Business Systems Officer.

You will be joining the organisation with a total of 100+ employees.

Role

Your role as CFO will be an initial 3 month fixed term contract with the purpose of the role to be using your strong financial accounting experience to manage the strategic development and financial management of the business, being able to steer the company with month and year end.

You will be providing financial advice, support and guidance and overall enhance the operational efficiencies. 

You will be a hands-on do-er, leading the organisation's budgeting, financial planning, control, reporting policies and practices, as well as providing financial analysis and planning that supports growth and governance.
  • Overhead cost allocation and program costing;
  • Providing financial support for the management of individual packages including budgeting, costing and statements;
  • Funding body acquittals;
  • Compliance with ATO requirements and other regulatory bodies;
  • Liaising constructively with external accountants;
  • Preparation and response to annual external audits;
  • Overseeing accounting and payroll functions 
Your role will also include oversight of corporate services, staff and volunteers and governance and risk.

About You
  • You have significant financial management processes - individual package funds are an advantage 
  • You are hands on and able to manage month and year end
  • Ability to exercise managerial control, involving planning, direction, control and evaluation
  • You are passionate about working for a community / social organisation
  • A high level of interpersonal skills to resolve organisational issues, negotiate contracts, develop and motivate staff
  • Experience working for a community / NFP organisation will be highly regarded
